Home Lab

I have a wide range of devices that I use for my home lab environment. I started out using a few Raspberry Pi devices to implement some of the interesting web applications being demonstrated in YouTube tutorials. When I noticed my Raspberry Pi being under a consistently high RAM usage, I brought out my old PC I had in the closet to use as a server which let me upgrade the RAM as well. I also upgraded the CPU to a higher end one that was supported by my motherboard.

I currently have two servers currently running in my home lab environment. They are both running Proxmox. I use one as a production server where I host several applications for my household. I use the other one to deploy new virtual machines and test out technologies that I am not familiar with.

I also have several virtual private servers hosted in the cloud. These servers hosts several web apps such as a website monitoring tool (Uptime Kuma), an automation platform (n8n), this website, and other web apps.

I am currently running PFsense in my home network. This is an open source router/ firewall that is also used in some enterprise environments. I have also deployed an instance of PfSense in one of my Proxmox servers that I use to test out new features I want to implement in my main PfSense router/ firewall.
